Our Street Outreach Response Team are looking for someone who would like to make a positive change in people's lives. As the successful candidate, you will be motivated and have creative solutions for those who are experiencing homelessness, many of whom face multiple disadvantages and have multiple needs including those who may have immigration issues.

We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change.
As the Senior Outreach Worker, your role will give you a degree of autonomy and to organise your day-to-day shift patterns, in response to client needs. Teamwork and partnership working is also an essential and a key part of your role, as the team compromises of specialist Navigators and outreach workers. You will also be working with specialist substance use outreach services and mental health outreach team (NEFLT), as well as liaising with the current housing and support provisions in the borough.
To succeed, you will have knowledge and experience of substance use and recovery & harm minimisation models, as well as an understanding and experience of working within the homelessness sector and/or housing. You will also have excellent communication skills and engagement skills, to work with a wide range of rough sleepers from those experiencing rough sleeping for the first time or those who have been facing homelessness for extended periods of time. We also welcome applications from applicants who can demonstrate transferable skills.
You will be committed to working in a flexible way to contributing and providing support, empowerment, choices and opportunities to help individuals reach their potential and navigate their way off the streets. Working hours are flexible, the core hours are between 7am - 4pm, annual street counts are conducted during the night in conjunction with the local authority.
Outreach shifts take place in and around Ilford and the wider areas of the Borough of Redbridge. Ilford Station; 20minutes from Liverpool Street Station, 10 mins from Stratford Station

- A salary increase after successfully completing six months.
