Job Description

Fixed-term contract until 31 March 2022. This post is grant funded for the advertised period and we expect this funding to continue beyond 2021/22.

We are looking for a Rough Sleeping Coordinator to join our team.

About us 

The financial heart of the UK, the Square Mile is an engine of national wealth. Yet our governing body, the City of London Corporation, faces its own challenges in supporting people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. Although we have a resident population of just 8,000 people, we also share wider community responsibilities for tackling rough sleeping with other London boroughs. This includes initiatives and posts funded through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Rough Sleeping Initiative. 

The role 

A key point of contact on all issues related to reducing rough sleeping in the City of London, you’ll co-ordinate a range of commissioned services including outreach, accommodation providers, drug and alcohol and health-related services. This means staying in regular communication with all commissioned services and chairing regular multiagency meetings and case reviews, You will also coordinate activities relating to the MHCLG Rough Sleeping Initiative such as cross-borough emergency accommodation services and psychotherapy. Collating data and preparing reports and briefing papers for elected members and senior council officers will be a key part of the role. 

About you 

You’ll be highly experienced in addressing homelessness and rough sleeping, with a focus on helping to find routes off the street. This will require extensive experience of working with public, private and voluntary sector partners. Good knowledge of available support services and how to obtain value for money from them is key, as is a thorough understanding of relevant housing legislation. An exceptional communicator, you’ll have the ability to build productive working relationships and gain support from a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll also be capable of gathering and evaluating data for senior decision-makers.
