Job Description

We are looking for an organised, motivated and engaged Lead Manager for our Hammersmith and Fulham Outreach and Housing First service. This service will support both new and more complex rough sleepers to move away from the streets and to access and maintain accommodation and support. This is a great opportunity to move into managing in a busy, high-profile service at the frontline of efforts to reduce rough sleeping in London.

This is a new service for Thames Reach and forms a significant part of the Borough’s rough sleeping strategy. Your innovative and flexible management of this service will influence the future of service provision across the Borough, and you will be able to recognise and confidently talk about best practise and its results to funders and other stakeholders.

You will be responsible for managing the service’s performance against its contract, monitoring and regularly reporting to funders on performance in meeting its targets.  This will require you to be outcome focussed and able to foster a culture of high performance and continual striving to improve upon successes throughout your team. You will work closely with commissioners, council employees and partner agencies to support H&F’s commitment to reduce rough sleeping in the borough.

The team will be supported by volunteers alongside partner agencies such as drug & alcohol support agencies, local enforcement teams, housing providers, and mental health support services.  You will take the lead in developing and managing these partnerships, forming positive relationships with key stakeholders and working with the Borough to increase and improve options for rough sleeping clients.

You will be:
• Outcome focussed.
• Organised and able to organise the operations of a complex, busy service.
• A decisive and effective leader.
• An excellent communicator able to form and maintain effective working relationships with our funders, housing providers, drug and alcohol teams and local community groups who are providing a service to rough sleepers.
• Able to recognise and confidently talk about best practise and its results to funders and other stakeholders.
• Able to directly manage and support staff, oversee the management of others and ensure the services finances are well managed.
• Confident in working with enforcement agencies such as the Police and local authority civil enforcement teams and be able to speak to others about the benefits of this joint working approach.

At Thames Reach we are committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Our vision is to end street homelessness and our aim is to achieve the highest standards of effectiveness in service delivery to vulnerable people.

This post will be based in Hammersmith & Fulham. Most work will take place during office hours with some flexible working required from time to time.

As well as a great working environment we also offer:
• Support to develop your leadership and strategic skills.
• 6.5% employer & 1.5% employee contributory pension scheme, tuition aid and management specific training.
• 29 days holiday and 8 paid bank holidays.

Thames Reach is committed to achieving a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We value, respect, and celebrate diversity. We welcome and encourage applicants from all sections of the community regardless of their history of homelessness, sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs.
