Job Description

CORE TASKS (Strategic)

 

  1. Oversee the development service delivery as advised by Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), Trauma Informed Care and Strengths Based Approach.
  2. Ensure the strategic delivery of all the accommodation services
  3. In consultation with the Winter Shelter Sub Group devise and implement the Winter Shelter Strategy
  4. Oversee income generation for accommodations services including the setting and implementation of a rent policy.
  5. Contribute to the development of the Nottingham City Council Winter Measures with other stakeholders including Housing Solutions and the Street Outreach Team.
  6. Develop positive inter-agency relationships with agencies providing services for people who are homeless and/or are vulnerable
  7. Liaise with external bodies, such as community and faith groups
  8. Liaise and engage with potential funders
  9. Oversee the delivery of effective volunteering in accommodation services
  10. Develop a positive team culture amongst staff and volunteers
  11. Ensure the development and implementation of a housing management plan.
  12. Build relationships with landlords around provision of accommodation, lease arrangements and housing management.
  13. Develop and implement a rent collection system that is efficient and accessible to beneficiaries.

     

    CORE TASKS (Operational)

     

  14. Attend meetings of the Winter Shelter Sub Group
  15. Provide data and prepare reports for all accommodation provision.
  16. Take action to minimize voids.
  17. Ensure rents are collected.
  18. Manage staff recruitment and appointments.
  19. Ensure staff receive regular supervision and appropriate support.
  20. Organise and deliver training for staff and volunteers
  21. Review policies and procedures governing referrals, assessment and the rights and duties of guests as necessary.
  22. Ensure housing management plan includes polices relating to Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Risk Assessments, Fire Safety, Food hygiene and reporting of accidents.
  23. Ensure that protocols are in place so that record keeping and operational practices are to a high professional standard.
  24. Attend strategic meetings with the City Council and other partners.
  25. Problem-solve any concerns and complaints/grievances.
  26. Ensure effective management of expenditure
  27. Manage IT hardware and software, liaising with Active 8 and Hanlon.
  28. Coordinate leave with the Coordinators ensuring there is management cover for accommodation services at all times.
  29. Oversee the establishing and ending of provision in accordance with strategic decisions about the future of individual projects.
  30. Ensure on-call is covered for accommodation services.

     

     

    GENERAL TASKS:

  31. Carry our management responsibilities in partnership with the Emmanuel House managers team.
  32. Adhere to the policies and procedures of Emmanuel House.
  33. Attend staff meetings and supervision.
  34. Be available for flexible working.
  35. Be committed to the development of the best possible practice at Emmanuel House and encourage social inclusion.
  36. Undertake training and be committed to your own professional development.
